5 Signs That a 9-to-5 Job Is Not Your Destiny, So Consider A Franchise

1. The Sunday Scaries
Every Sunday night, you have that sinking feeling that the workweek is right around the corner, and you dread it. And you begin to consider starting your own business. Why not a franchise business?

2. You're Stressed Out In A Bad Way
A little stress can go a long way, but too much stress is unhealthy. If your job is the common cause of your moodiness, inability to sleep, or back pain, it's time to make a change.

3. Following The Company Line Causes You To Break Out In A Cold Sweat
The idea of adhering to your employer's values is no longer appealing, motivating, aspirational, or anything else positive.

4. You Simply Don't Care
If you've emotionally left the building, then it's time to move on. We all work for the majority of our lives. Our focus should be on doing something we enjoy so that work isn't just a job but a passion.

5. Obsession With Small Business Content
Your interest in reading blogs about small businesses has turned into an obsession. With so many blogs, podcasts, and Facebook groups devoted to running your own business, you could easily spend your work week consuming content you enjoy.

Are You Checking Off These Boxes? Maybe A Franchise Is For You

These signals indicate that you have subconsciously left your employer and that it is time to make your dreams of owning your own business a reality.

A franchise provides new business owners the security of a tried-and-true system and a well-known brand. From the start, they offer new owners years of experience and knowledge. In addition, a franchise business connects you to a community of fellow franchisees who are also striving to grow and prosper by owning their own business.

I Stepped Out Of My Comfort Zone And Found A Passion For Franchising

I would like to share something personal you might not know about me. Before finding my true passion in franchising, I was working in real estate and started my entrepreneurship with mom-and-pop business ownership investing a small amount with a couple of partners. I quickly realized how much work I was putting into my small investment, building systems and processes with no road map.

Working in real estate got me my start, but working at my mom-and-pop gave me the motivation and allowed me to meet some wonderful people and lay a solid business foundation. But it was when I stepped outside of my comfort zone and invested in a franchise that I discovered the true thrill of entrepreneurship.

Now, franchising is my unwavering passion. Why?

There are numerous benefits to franchising. The first is the tried-and-true franchise processes and systems. These were developed by the franchisor and have proven to be successful. Because you are building on what others have learned before you, franchise systems save you time and money that would otherwise be wasted in an independent small business.

Another advantage of franchising is there are no limits to your opportunities, and you can always have peace of mind knowing you are building equity. In addition, you are creating something that you can pass on to your children.

One of the most important perks of franchising is the reassurance of knowing you aren’t alone on your journey. You have a support network from the start, which reduces stress throughout the journey.

Not only do I appreciate the support of my franchise network, but franchisees are, at their core, local business owners and community members. Therefore, I believe it is critical that we assist those who are new to the area or the franchise.

Last but not least, the most important aspect of franchising for me is the lifetime friendships I've formed with people from all over the country.

There's a lot to love about franchising, but for me, the relationships are what matter most.

Did You Know Franchise Matchmaking Is An Art Form?

Perfect matches don't always involve romantic relationships. Cupids, also known as Franchise Consultants, exist in the franchise industry and are experts in the art of matchmaking.

How do you know if you're working with a reputable Franchise Consultant? Like a good life partner, a good listener prioritizes your needs and understands what is important to you. Here are a few indicators that your Franchise Consultant is skilled and experienced.

A Franchise Consultant Who Evaluates Your Commitment

Are you fully committed or just starting out? You want someone knowledgeable enough to recognize this and assist you in determining whether franchise ownership is right for you.

A Franchise Consultant Who Asks Questions And Listens To The Answers

A Franchise Consultant should focus on the candidate's goals once she has been hired to find the best match for them. A good Franchise Consultant will become acquainted with you on three levels:

  • Personal
What are the personal goals of the candidate? Do they want more time with family? Do they want to work from home?
  • Professional
What is the candidate hoping to accomplish with his next venture? A candidate's professional goals reveal what they want now and in the future.
  • Financial
A diligent Franchise Consultant will investigate the candidate's financial goals. A Franchise Consultant would not want a candidate to fall in love with a concept beyond his financial means.

A Franchise Consultant With Connections

Once the Franchise Consultant has all the information about their candidate, they can begin matchmaking and present options for the candidate to consider in order to decide who they want to get to know better.

A Franchise Consultant Who Guides The Candidate Through The Process

After establishing a connection, the candidate must determine whether the match is appropriate for them. A Franchise Consultant will encourage the candidate to research the brand and perform validations by speaking with other owners to get a first-hand account of what they should expect as a franchisee.

Can Multi-Unit Franchising Be Your Security Blanket in a Chilly Economy?

More people are considering new career options as a result of The Great Resignation and a changing economy. While many people start their own businesses, others invest in well-known franchise brands and become franchisees. An increasing number of people start out with just one unit of a franchise before expanding as they become successful.

The next step, becoming increasingly popular, is to transition to a multi-unit franchisee. Many franchisees seek new opportunities for growth after becoming successful in owning and managing their first franchise.

Being a multi-unit franchisee has numerous advantages. Franchisees considering multi-unit expansion can reap the following benefits from their franchisor.

Knowledgeable Support System

Multi-unit franchisors provide franchisees with access to a wide range of expertise. For example, their support team has knowledge of various business models and can impart that knowledge to their franchisees. In addition, existing franchisees can quickly launch their new franchises unit because of their previous experience and familiarity with the franchisor's practices and training procedures.

More Influence in Your Market

When you run a multi-unit franchise operation, you will have more influence with your parent company. This translates to greater cost control and economic leverage in your franchise.

Protection Against Economic Downturns with Diversification

Operating franchise units in various market segments can counterbalance each other in a shaky economy if one sector is hit harder than another. For example, if a multi-unit franchisee notices that one of their locations is underperforming, they can use revenue from their other units to stay on course.

In recent years, multi-unit franchising has grown significantly. This trend is unlikely to slow anytime soon as more people consider new ways to secure their financial future in our changing economy.

You Can Find Growth And Security Through Franchises With Multiple Revenue Streams

If you want to start a new business, franchising is an excellent opportunity. There are franchises in nearly every industry, so you have many options. So, how do you narrow it down and eventually choose the best one for you?

Selecting a brand with a variety of revenue streams may help you as a new franchisee increase your business growth and financial security. Your business earns money in more than one way with multiple revenue streams, such as a shop with a subscription plan or a service franchise that also sells products.

As a prospective business owner, this will be an important consideration when selecting a franchise. Why? It not only allows you to earn more money, but it also allows you to reach more customers.

If one customer does not want one of your products or services, they may want another. Over time, this leads to higher profits, a wider reach, and thus more franchising success, income, and reach.

Having several revenue streams is essential in any franchise. They provide a proven way for an owner to reduce risk and create a more predictable revenue flow from several sources rather than relying on a single, traditional product or service.

With numerous income sources, franchisees can reach the same loyal customer more frequently and through more points of contact.

Keep in mind that additional revenue streams have been tested and proven to be successful by the franchisor. They bring long-term, added value to both the company and its customers and should be easy for franchisees to execute and fit in well with the brand’s niche products or service offerings.

The more revenue-generating opportunities available to franchisees, the more likely your franchise will grow and build financial security for you.

Keeping Your Career While Running A Franchise

The ability to maintain your career while running your own business is possible with franchise ownership, while that may not always be possible with a start-up business.

Although many franchisees rely on their business unit to generate revenue, more people are interested in purchasing a franchise to generate a second source of income. This is made possible by a flexible franchise option, which can provide some opportunities that other franchises cannot.

It is becoming more common for franchise owners to work full-time while running their businesses. As a result, they can generate additional income or create more security for themselves while running a franchise part-time. This does not imply that you will not be involved in your business. Instead, you will take on a role that will take up less of your time.

While this is not always possible with franchises, many businesses use a manager-run model that does not necessitate the owner's constant presence. This simplifies franchise ownership by allowing the franchisee to keep their current job while also having the option of opening new franchise locations in the future. These franchises will also typically receive a lot of systems and processes provided by the franchisor.

The ability to run a franchise with fewer hours spent at the business unit is a relatively new concept, and there is a growing demand for this type of franchise. This shift has been aided by technological developments, which also enable franchise owners to monitor their businesses remotely.

Investing in a franchise could be the answer if you want to increase your income, build your financial security, or start a new business with a part-time commitment.
